Its a pretty terrible thing to do. Those trees are lik 150 years old, its horrible to resort to that.
although they did roll Toomers corner when Bear Bryant died, its not an excuse.

I was listening to Finebaums show the day that guy called in. Now that they have apparently discovered to it was, it gets kind of funny/sad. The dude named his two kids Bear (son) and Crimson (daughter).

I wondered how true it was the day he called in. Unfortunately it was true. Oddly the guy used to be a Texas state trooper.

What a douche move, hope charges are filed to the fullest and he gets a pretty stiff punishment. I don't even like Auburn btw, just a real ****ty thing to do.
It is taking it overboard, but its not as if Auburn is totally clean here.
They vandalized Bear Bryants statue, vandalized a grassy portion near BDS, etc...
The guy who poisoned the trees should be punished, he destroyed a very old and priceless piece of history. But the Auburn fans are taking it overboard, no way should this guy spend more than a couple days or a month in jail. I know one big AU supporter is advocating ten years in prison. Thats f'n ridiculous

The problem is that trees are supposed to be protected, and that chemical I believe isnt supposed to be used near populated areas. It could get into a water supply and theres part of what may really get the guy in deep water.

I laughed so hard I pulled over to the side of the road. Not that it was funny but that you hate somebody that much, and has risk his life to do something that stupid. I shouldn't be surprised though I have a salesman that went to Bama that calls on us, and he swears he hasn't spoken to his sister in eleven years because her daughter went to Auburn. True genuine hate.
Trees are protected? Maybe those trees in particular, but not trees in general. I wish they were, I hate the way trees are treated in the US.
But I still cant advocate that guy spending years in prison. Im sure all steps were taken to address that issue of the water supply, AU is a huge agricultural university with a lot of focus on agriculture.
It was a terrible thing to do, it really was. I do not support this mans actions at all, and most of the Alabama fanbase feels the same way. Auburn made an ass of themselves after the Iron Bowl but it does not excuse his actions one bit.
But he didnt try to hurt a person or cause millions in damage. He should get a big fine, enough to cover the damage but spend very little time behind bars. No reason he should spend years in prison.
